I was inspired by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! earlier post asking what our most favoritest cars are. I could not pick one on the spot so I've spent the past couple of hours trying to pick one. I could not. So here are some that I would most definitely have in me dream garage. If money was no object of course. This is not a complete list mostly because I don't want to break Kinja with all of the awesome... You can really get a feel for my taste in automobiles from this list.

Thanks... Sorry there's no Audi Wagon on there... I couldn't decide which one I wanted most! Do I go with an '80's 2000 or 5000? or do I get an RS4 or RS6? But from which year? I think I'd just pay Audi a shit-ton of money and have them build me an RS6 Allroad. With a 6sp. Oh and I'll take a Q7 V12 TDi too...

That is quite the list. I can understand why you have such a long list. There have been thousands of cars and many deserve to be my favorite, it changes from time to time, however as I think about it, the Daytona has always stood out as unique to me and a triumph of American ingenuity. You're list though is great the Superbird, Montreal, 1928 Bentley, 300 SLR, and the prewars are all perfect! Like us every car has a unique and wonderful personality that can't be compared.

I have yet to find a car that appeals to me in the way that the Daytona appeals to you. The car that gets closest is probably the Citroën DS or the 300SLR Ulenhaut. For their styling, engineering advances, and historical relevance. But for the most part, the styling and driving experience of a car is what appeals to me most. I can fall in love with a car if it has a sexy name, is more than fun to drive, and can be visually taken in for hours. If I can enjoy driving it and then enjoy taking in every line over a glass or 4 of wine when I get back, I want it.

Maybe I am an idiot but I never found the DS very attractive, but I recognize its importance and would love to see one and maybe drive it one day. For me the Daytona just best represents everything you summed up. I could sit there drink a glass of wine and just look at it all day.

I don't find the DS drop dead gorgeous either, but it is beautiful in a certain, elegant way. Somewhat like the Großer.

In the automotive landscape their certainly isn't another shape like the DS, in a way it still looks futuristic
